All... All... All.

“...all... all... all...” - Genesis 39.5,22 &41.41

There are three times in the life of Joseph when he was put in a position of responsibility of “all” of something.

Genesis 39:5  “And it came to pass from the time that he (Potiphar) had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field.”

Pride Cometh

“When pride cometh...” - Proverbs 11.2

Can we imagine… when we were very little… and we knew (!) that sooner or later… no matter how tightly we closed our eyes, or how firmly we put our fingers in our ears… “The Monster” would eventually come out from under the bed and get us?!?!

“When… pride… cometh

We have a saying that goes like this: “Not IF, but WHEN…”

“When… pride… cometh, then cometh shame:”

“When pride cometh, then cometh shame:

Lamp Unto My Feet

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” - Psalm 119.105

Someone has well said,

The Light of The World.

“Ye are the light of the world.”

Matthew 5.14

Sometimes it’s hard to see it clearly – but it’s still true!  This is a simple, straight-forward statement made by the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus is speaking to the disciples, the apostles who would become the first church of the New Testament (Matthew 16.18, 2 Corinthians 12.28).  Jesus is simply saying, “Ye are the light of the world.”  And it was a statement, not a question.

Are You A Servant?

And whosoever of you will be the chiefest,

shall be servant of all. ”

Mark 10.44

I’m not sure who said it, but this quote is very good:  “How do you know if you are a servant? By how you react when someone treats you as one”

I remember a few times I didn’t like the way someone was treating me!  They were probably treating me like “some sort of servant”.

The Truth

And they will deceive every one his neighbour,

and will not speak the truth:

they have taught their tongue to speak lies,

and weary themselves to commit iniquity.” - Jeremiah 9.5

One of the greatest gifts we have by being born again Christians is...       the Truth!

The above verse certainly describes our world today!  Sin pushes people to believe – with all of their heart and energy – lies.

Lots and lots of lies!

Looking unto Jesus

“Looking unto Jesus...” - Hebrews 12.2

Out along a country lane is a field with two horses in it.  From a distance, each looks like every other horse.  But if one is walking by, one will notice something quite amazing.

The Righteous Eateth To The Satisfying of His Soul

“The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul.” - Proverbs 13.24

Whenever I come across this verse I find and I need it!

There are times when we seem to go, go, go.  But we wonder whether we are getting anywhere.   Sometimes we give and give of ourselves doing what we believe the Lord has asked us to do - and we are worn out!

Who made the earth tremble?

“Is this the man that made the earth to tremble?"

Isaiah 14.16

Who is this?

“Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;” (Isaiah 14.15-16)

Verse 12 tells us who this is, How art thou fallen... O Lucifer,”!

Unicorns?

And the unicorns shall come down with them... - Isaiah 34.7

What exactly is a unicorn?

Have you ever wondered?

A unicorn is a mythical creature.  Or so, most of the dictionaries today will say.

But in the above verse, in the context of the Lord’s return to earth to rule and reign with His saints, we are told, And the unicorns shall come down with them...
