Don’t go back! The Lord was reminding the Jews that they had been freed from captivity in Egypt – don’t go back!
It’s the same when a person becomes a born again Christian. Free from captivity to sin, free from the sin of bad habits, bad attitudes, sadness, selfishness, loneliness, and a life full of trouble!

Whenever I come across this verse, I find that I need it!
There are times when we seem to go, go, go! But we wonder whether we are getting anywhere. Sometimes we give a lot of ourselves doing what we believe the Lord has asked us to do - and we are worn out!

Proverbs 1.27
I used to read this verse like it said, “...they would not choose...” Kind of like they were honestly still thinking about it. But it says, “they did not choose…” Basically they had already made their decision!
“...they did not choose...”
