Zion ... the Foxes Walk Upon It

“Zion... the foxes walk upon it.” - Lamentations 5.18

This can’t be good...  Zion is where the Temple is... was... this can’t be good.

We only have to see which book of the Bible this verse comes from to know something is wrong.

The Book of Lamentations.  The book of crying.  The Book of the Bible that speaks of the weeping of the prophet Jeremiah, the weeping of the people of Israel... the weeping of the heart of Almighty God Who is all loving and all merciful!  This same longsuffering God Who sent His only begotten Son to die for our sin!  This same Almighty God is Just, and he must punish sin when His grace and mercy, when His precious Son is...

REJECTED!

“The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning. The crown is fallen from our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned! For this our heart is faint; for these things our eyes are dim. Because of the mountain of Zion, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it. Thou, O LORD, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation. Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, and forsake us so long time? Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old. But thou hast utterly rejected us; thou art very wroth against us.” - Lamentations 5.15-22

Do not reject the Son of God, rather receive Him as your personal Saviour by faith through grace and be born again...“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;” “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
