Sinneth Not

(for there is no man which sinneth not,)” - 2 Chronicles 6.36

This little parenthesis strikes me every time I read it!

The truth of it strikes me, and it strikes me more so because of where we actually find it in the Bible.  It is right in the middle of King Solomon’s powerful prayer of dedication for the amazing temple in Jerusalem!

It would seem that in a prayer of dedication for such a beautiful new temple these words are so “out of place”!

Yet everything about the temple was about these words… “(for there is no man which sinneth not,)”.

If they sin against thee, (for there is no man which sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them over before their enemies, and they carry them away captives unto a land far off or near… They did sin and God was angry.  We have all sinned and been carried away as captives in our sin. “(for there is no man which sinneth not,)”!!!

That the Almighty God who is holy, who is without sin, would send His only begotten Son to be sin for us, who never sinned Himself and who knew no sin - so that we could be made right with the Almighty God our Creator…?  Behold the Lamb of God, whose blood would be sprinkled on the mercy seat in the temple of Heaven… “(for there is no man which sinneth not,)”

Truly Christ Jesus came into the world to save… sinners…“(for there is no man which sinneth not,)”  Is it ever “out of place” to be reminded who we are… and Who He is..?  I don’t think so.

          Run with patience,
