Pride Cometh

“When pride cometh...” - Proverbs 11.2

Can we imagine… when we were very little… and we knew (!) that sooner or later… no matter how tightly we closed our eyes, or how firmly we put our fingers in our ears… “The Monster” would eventually come out from under the bed and get us?!?!

“When… pride… cometh…”

We have a saying that goes like this: “Not IF, but WHEN…”

“When… pride… cometh…, then cometh shame:”

“When pride cometh, then cometh shame:

but

with the lowly is wisdom.”

Yes, we are best to be honest, and humbly admit, that even though the “monster” under the bed never got us as a child, the real “Monster” of OUR PRIDE is always waiting somewhere for “when” we are not aware, to reach it’s “scary” claws into our hearts and lives… “When pride cometh...”
