No Evil Shall Happen

“There shall no evil happen to the just:” - Proverbs 12.21

Do you ever find times when you just need a Promise?

Times when your heart is seeking something from the Lord to help?  Sometimes it’s a decision, sometimes it’s just reassurance that the Lord is in control – that God knows what is going on?  He knows what I need, better than I know myself?

“There shall no evil happen to the just:”

The word “just” means someone who knows the Lord, someone who has been “justified”, someone who is saved, a Christian.  One who stands before Almighty God “just as if I’d” never sinned – because of Christ’s sacrifice.

There are certainly a lot of things that happen in our Christian life, and some are very challenging and difficult but - “There shall no evil happen to the just:”

Sometimes we don’t feel we pray enough, or get enough out of our Bible reading but - “There shall no evil happen to the just:”

There are times we handle a situation badly or just say the wrong thing, at the wrong time, to the wrong person but - “There shall no evil happen to the just:”

Whatever may happen – whether we can make any sense of it, here is a great, reassuring Promise, “There shall no evil happen to the just:”!

Run with patience,

          Pastor
