Life’s Verse

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” - Isaiah 26.3

This is one of those “Life’s Verses”.

This is a verse that many people hold on to when they really, really need the Lord’s help.  It is a great verse and a verse that we should all know well.  It flows.  It is true.  We can believe it.  We should hide it in our heart!

Right now this verse is making me ask myself:

What are some of my “Life’s Verses” that I hold on to?

What are some verses that come to my mind when I am struggling?

Are there verses that flow through my mind when I really, really need help?  Or do I just keep on trying to “plow my way through”!  Just keep trying to “tough it out” through difficulties without any regard to the Lord?

The truth is there are often times when I don’t – and I don’t think to – go to the scriptures!  Shame on me!  No wonder there are times when I struggle far longer than I should, when I don’t have any “peace” – much less “perfect peace”!

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace,

whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”

When I do the right thing and “fall back” on some of my life’s verses I find they never fail!  Verses and passages such as Lamentations 3.22-23, Philippians 1.6, Hebrews 13.5, Psalm 27, Psalm 52.8, Acts 6.4, Psalm 1.1-2

What are some of your “Life’s Verses”?
