I Will Give Them An Heart To Know Me

“I will give them an heart to know me” - Jeremiah 24.7

Wow, these words of the Lord ought to really sink down into our hearts, “I will give them an heart to know me”.  Especially -knowing what the Bible says about our heart. 

In fact, the first time we see the heart mentioned in the Bible it is bad: “And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” (Genesis 6:5)  And God sent the Flood…

Jeremiah 17:9 tells us, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”  Yet our verse above says,

“I will give them”

“ an heart”

“ to know me,”

“that I am the LORD:”

Christian, that is a PROMISE!

The Lord will give us “The want to, to want Him!” How can that be?!?   It started by grace when He saved me, “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;” (Romans 10.13)   And continues by His grace, “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” (1 Corinthians 2.9)

“I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the LORD:”
