From The Beginning

“That which was from the beginning,

which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes,

which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled,

of the Word of life;”

1 John 1.1

The Apostle John once again gives us some pretty incredible thoughts here:  He had the amazing opportunity to KNOW the Lord Jesus while our Lord was on this earth!  He knew the living, breathing Jesus in the flesh.  He never really “got over it” - Amen!

He is reminding these people that they too knew the Lord Jesus… “we have heard… we have seen… we have looked upon,”.  He is encouraging them to stop and think… how amazing it was!

Yet this opportunity has not been lost to us.  Though we have not seen Him in the flesh, just before Jesus died, as He prayed for His disciples He said, “Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;” (John 17.20)

For the past two thousand plus years Christians have been faithful to share the message of Salvation so that we have the chance to believe… “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen…”
