“...very able men for the work of the service of the house of God.”

1 Chronicles 9.13

The above verse is speaking specifically about the priests and Levites, men who worked in the Temple of the Old Testament.

We no longer have the Temple of the Old Testament, but we can thank the Lord for always providing, “very able men”, (and very able women and young people) who love and enjoy serving the Lord in their local New Testament Church!

As I hear from different churches around Australia, and other parts of the world, I thank the Lord for our church.  There are many churches without pastors, there are churches where there are no faithful people to help, there are some churches whose pastors are old now and have no younger men to serve with them – it is all sad.  Certainly, the Lord does provide, and there are faithful churches and people, but this is a testing time.

There are churches struggling through changes and the changes they are making are not for the good – we need to pray.

Remember,

  • the devil loves Discouragement...
  • the devil loves to Divide and conquer...
  • the devil loves Death… especially the death of souls without Christ, and the death of churches!

May we keep our friends and brethren in prayer, and our focus on the Lord to avoid discouragement, division and ultimately the death of our church, or any of God’s faithful churches – and may we Thank God for the, “...very able men for the work of the service of the house of God.”
