“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”

Psalm 119.11

What did Jesus DO when he was tempted of the devil...? (Matthew 4 & Luke 4)

So often we face a temptation and we do nothing.

We don’t give in, really.  But unless we DO SOMETHING we remain very, very... very vulnerable.

Temptation comes to everyone.  We are tempted to leave the right ways of the Lord and follow the dark paths – the wrong ways of this world.

Psalm 119.8 asks the question, “Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way?”

What did Jesus DO when He faced temptation?  The above verse goes on to say, “by taking heed thereto according to thy word.”

What did Jesus DO when he was tempted of the devil...?  He gave the devil scripture.  Jesus told the devil what the Bible says

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart,” funny how the devil can play with our mind, but there is no room in our heart when The Word of God is there.

“that I might not sin against thee.”  The next time the devil comes our way with a ready-made, previously tested, often successful temptation, let’s DO SOMETHING, let’s give him some scripture, ready-made, previously tested and ALWAYS successful.

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart,

that I might not sin against thee.”
