“...lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”

Psalm 61.2

In the Christian life it’s good to know we have a God Who is greater than anything we can imagine!

Even us...

So often we look down...  We look around...  We wonder how things could be better… We ask, “What are the ‘options’”.

So often we try to plan, anticipate, prepare for “something” to happen...?  Then it does and - “LOOK OUT!!!”  Maybe it wasn’t what we wanted!

But, for all that God has for us, in this life, for all of life’s “excitement”, it’s always good to know it’s all about Him and for Him.

The writer of this Psalm declares, “Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer.  From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”

That rock is the Lord Jesus Christ!

We are told in 1 Corinthians 10.4, “that Rock was Christ.”  And in Luke 21.28, “...look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” “lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”

It’s so good to know we have a God so great, and yet so willing to listen to us and to hear us – so that we can often say, “Lord, please… ‘lead me to the rock that is higher than I.’”
