“Emmanuel... God with us.”

Matthew 1.23

How can that be?

God... with us?

First of all, it definitely isn’t a question, it happened!  Full stop.

Then, it just amazes me that God the Father sent Jesus, and that Jesus willing obeyed. (Philippians 2.5-8)

It amazes me because I will spend my life thinking about this verse, believing it and accepting it with all my heart, but it is so far beyond my mind that I could never completely understand it.

I thank the Lord for this verse, and for all the Bible, because it tells us - God sent Jesus, His only begotten Son, and Jesus was, and is –

“Emmanuel... God with us.”

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

“He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.”  (John 3.16, 1 John 5.12)

Do you have the Son?  Is Christ in you?  Do you have everlasting life?  Eternal life… it is the free gift, paid for by Jesus Christ who is “Emmanuel… God with us.”

Receive it and you receive the best gift ever!  “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23
