“Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners;”

1 Timothy 1.15

The Gospel of John, chapters 3-5 give us a great opportunity to consider ourselves and people we will interact with this Holiday Season:

John 3 – The Religious/Spiritual Wreck – Nicodemus.  Jesus tells him, “Ye must be born again.” “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3.7,16)

John 4 – The Moral/Emotional Wreck – The Woman at the Well.  Jesus tells her, “…whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst;” And this woman later said, “Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?” (John 4.14,29)

John 5 – The Impotent/Physical Wreck.  The Man who had No Strength.  Jesus said to him, “Wilt thou be made whole?  The impotent man answered him, Sir I have no man,” And later Jesus said to him, “Behold, thou art made whole...”  (John 5.6,7, 14)

“Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners;”

Most likely we will run across someone who is like one of the above people, Family, friends, work mates – so remember - “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners;”!

This is the REASON for the Season!  Be prepared to help someone in a spiritual way.  Be prepared to tell someone, “Ye must be born again.” “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” “…whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst;” “Wilt thou be made whole?”
