“Beloved now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that when he shall appear, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.”

1 John 3:2

As born-again Christians we can know, that right now - we are the children of God!

“…now are we the sons of God”

Too often the religions of this world turn their converts into zealots, or even fanatics.  But those who are truly saved just simply know that something has happened in their heart.  We simply know that we have passed from death unto life. (1 John 5.13, John 10.28-29, 2 Corinthians 5.17) And though we are still here on this earth - for now - and we don’t know exactly what it will be like on the other side but – “we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him,”!  Imagine that!

A song says, “Oh I want to see Him, Look upon His face”.  Another hymn puts it like this, “Tell me the story of Jesus, write on my heart every word, tell me the story most precious, sweetest that ever was heard… stay let me weep while you whisper, love paid the ransom for me!”  And yet another - “How beautiful Heaven must be!”

“…for we shall see Him as He is.”

Do you KNOW for sure that you have been born again?  Then as the holidays approach let’s have a plan to enjoy being the children of God.  Let’s not get bored, or lonely, or depressed, rather let’s plan to read our Bible a bit more, let’s plan to be with other born-again Christians in church, let’s plan to reach out to our unsaved loved ones by being a good Christian example (they need to KNOW the Saviour too).

“Beloved now are we the sons of God… we shall see Him as He is.”
