“The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul.”

Whenever I come across this verse, I find that I need it!

There are times when we seem to go, go, go!  But we wonder whether we are getting anywhere.  Sometimes we give a lot of ourselves doing what we believe the Lord has asked us to do - and we are worn out!

Sometimes we may wonder, are we like Martha to whom the Lord said, “Martha, thou art careful (full of care) and troubled about many things: but one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”  Mary chose to listen to Jesus. (Luke 10:41-42)

Martha was caring too much about too many things!  She was cumbered (burdened or oppressed) about with much ‘serving’.  But her sister Mary was sitting, listening to the Lord.

This verse in Proverbs reminds us that we need to spend time with God: Reading the Bible, and praying, being in church regularly to allow a chance for our soul to be fed to its satisfaction!

Is your SOUL HUNGRY?  If you’re a Christian, it will be!  And God will feed your SOUL if you let Him!

“The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish:”  Proverbs 10:3

There are times when we have a lot going on… so put Christ first!  There are times when we are busy… put our Bible reading first.  There are times when we are “on the go” …take time to pray and keep praying on the go!  By doing so - other things will work themselves out – because as Christians, righteous in Christ, we can be satisfied!

“The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul.”
