“The LORD is...”

Psalm 27.1

That word: “is...”, that little word with just two letters,  “is...”

“The LORD is...”  What exactly should it mean to us?

Well for me, it’s sometimes very important that I realize “The LORD is...”

Yes, the LORD was, and He always will be.  The LORD God, our Lord Jesus Christ is Eternal.  It’s one of His attributes.  And it’s an amazing attribute!  He has always been, and He will always be, and right NOW He IS!!!

And right NOW I really need to know that!

Right now…

When I feel I am in the dark, “The LORD is my light...” Psalm 27.1

When I am weak, “The LORD is my strength...” Psalm 27.1

When I feel hopeless & helpless, “GOD is... a very present help...” Psalm 46.1

When I feel we are fighting a losing battle, “Great is the LORD,” Psalm. 48.1

When I feel I am wandering, a bit lost, without much direction, “The LORD is my shepherd.” Psalm 23.1

The LORD is...” And even, when all is said and done, I know that my Redeemer liveth!  (Right now!) And has passed through the valley of the shadow of death and - if we have received Him as our Saviour - we can say, “this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.” Psalm 48.14 (Also Job 19.25, Psalm 23.4)

Sometimes I just need to remember it, I need to claim it, I need to say it - “The LORD is...”  RIGHT NOW!!!
