“…no secret troubleth thee…”

Daniel 4.9

Now, isn’t that an amazing statement?  It was made by King Nebuchadnezzar to Daniel, “…no secret troubleth thee…”

Compared to the world King Nebuchadnezzar lived in – a world without the one true God and Saviour – Daniel’s world seemed so peaceful, “…no secret troubleth thee…”

It seemed Daniel never had much to worry about…

Could that be true?  “No worries”?

Yes, and no.

Compared to King Nebuchadnezzar - Daniel did not have many “troubles”.  But Daniel did have things that troubled him – verse 19 – and he knew how and where to go for help… and we need to see that for ourselves too!  “For whatsoever things were written aforetime…” (like things in the Book of Daniel – and there are a lot of ‘very interesting’ things written in Daniel) “…were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.”  Romans 15.4

There are times we all face unknown/secret things that may trouble us – and to those who have no hope… it may seem that “no secret troubleth” us.  I pray that, if this is the case, it will bring others to receive Jesus Christ, the Lord as their own personal Saviour.
