Who Shall Separate Us...?

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?”

Romans 8.35

Wow, what a question!  “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?”  Is it a trick question?  I mean:  There could be some “one” or some “thing” that could separate us from the love of Christ, right?

Maybe the Devil.  Maybe ungodly leaders or bad people.  Maybe trouble or hard times.  Maybe there is something we don’t know about yet that could separate us from the love of Christ!

“Maybe...?”  Yeah?  Well, “maybe” NOTHING!

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?  As it is written, For thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.  Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any othercreature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

There is nothing that can separate us from the love of Christ and the love of God.  Jesus put it this way in John 10.28-29, “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.  My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.”
