O satisfy us early...

O satisfy us early with thy mercy,
that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

Psalm 90.14

Over the next few weeks so many people will be looking for some sort of satisfaction.

That is not a bad thing – the verse above speaks of being satisfied.  The tricky thing is how people will go looking for satisfaction.

There is enjoyment and fun and rest and satisfaction in gifts – both giving and getting!  And we do love eating great meals together with family and friends.  And we all need time off from work and study.   Travel and recreation do provide a change of pace... but THE SATISFACTION IS LIMITED unless the Lord blesses and satisfies us.

O satisfy us early with thy mercy,
that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

As we prepare for the Holidays, let’s prepare to seek the Lord and His will and blessings.  May we trust in His provision and mercy so that every day, and with every person, in every gift and every bit of time with other people, we remember to “rejoice and be glad”, because every day starts with the Lord’s new mercies to us, and at the end of every day we who know the Lord Jesus Christ as our personal Saviour can say – we know tomorrow will also be a great day and we know where we will spend eternity because He is faithful...  He, and only He, can satisfy the deep-down needs of our heart and soul!  (Isaiah 55.6, Psalm 37.3-5, Proverbs 3.5-6, Lamentations 3.22-23,1 John 5.13, Psalm 92.2)

O satisfy us early with thy mercy,
that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

Run with patience,
