Now Are We The Sons of God

“Beloved now are we the sons of God,

and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that,

when he shall appear, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.”

1 John 3:2

We are pilgrims in this world, and we need to keep that in mind.

We are only passing through.  But yet, right now – those who have been ‘born again’, - we are right now the sons of God!

“…now are we the sons of God”

Born again Christians just simply know that something has happened in their heart.  We simply know that we have passed from death unto life. (1 John 5.13, John 10.28-29, 2 Corinthians 5.17)  And though we are still here - for now - and we don’t know exactly what it will be like on the other side – “we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him,”!   Imagine that!

The song says “Oh I want to see Him, Look upon His face”.  And another song, “Tell me the story of Jesus, write on my heart every word, tell me the story most precious, sweetest that ever was heard… stay let me weep while you whisper, love paid the ransom for me!”  And yet another proclaims - “How beautiful Heaven must be!”  “…for we shall see Him as He is.”

Yes, for now we are just pilgrims, but let’s also remember this comforting thought…“Beloved noware we the sons of God”.
