The Name of the LORD is . . .

“The name of the LORD is a strong tower:”

Proverbs 18:10

When I read this verse a while ago it struck me as a picture…

So I tried to draw the picture… The name of the LORD is a strong tower.

I’m not too sure about my drawing abilities, and I’m not too sure whether anyone could tell that is a tower… but as I was thinking, and drawing, I realized the tower, the strong tower of the name of the LORD could get higher and higher… There are a lot of names that our LORD has.  Proper names, like we see here, but also names that describe Him.  The truth is that the name of the LORD is a strong tower and as a tower it CAN just get higher and higher.  I suppose it would reach up to heaven…  And I suppose there is a good point with that -  “If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” John 14:14

But for now – this is what I needed to know the day I read this verse:  The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

Do I really believe that?  When was the last time I ran to the tower, that is the name of the LORD and found that I was safe?  Honestly?  Not very long go actually, and I found it to be true… The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
