Lord’s Day

“I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day…” - Revelation 1.10

I thank the Lord for the “Lord’s Day”!

We call it by that name because it is the day Jesus rose from the dead, the first day of the week, Sunday by our modern calendar.

It is the special day of the week that the New Testament Christians assembled in their churches to worship the Lord, pray together, and study the Word of God.  It is good to be in the house of God – especially on the Lord’s Day, and it is great when we can know we are “in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day”!

The above verse is from the Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ, when the Apostle John was exiled on an isolated island.  Though he was exiled, and probably not in the best of circumstances he could still say, “I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last”.

May we always plan, pray and look forward to being in the Spirit on the Lord’s day.  To hear the Lord speaking to us!  To hear whatever He might say to us!  To hear Him… tell us… that He is the Alpha and Omega – He is the first and the last and whatever HE has for us is fantastic!

“I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day…”

            Run with patience,
