Let all things be done decently and in order

Books in order

“Let all things be done decently and in order.”

(1 Corinthians 14:40)

That always takes planning, prayer and preparation!  “Let all things be done decently and in order.”

Sometimes it just takes “getting on with it!”  Like, the opposite of procrastination… “Never put off tilltomorrow, what you can do today.”  “You may delay, but time will not.”  So – DO NOT PUT THINGS OFF!

However - “Let all things be done decently and in order.”

There is an order for everything!  Do we know what that is, or do we “get the cart before the horse”sometimes!?

How can we know the order of things?  Especially because, sometimes it is so confusing...!  There is a clue in verse 33 of the same chapter, “God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.” (1 Corinthians 14:33)

The truth is God is a God of order.  He created the world in six days then rested on the seventh.  He created the seasons and they follow one right after the other.  He forgives the sin of all who come to Him through His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.  He has given us a job to do as a New Testament church and He is coming again for the saved…  every time we get into His Word we see that we can and we should… “Let all things be done decently and in order.”

Run with patience,

Pastor
