Father, Glorify Thy Name

“Father, glorify thy name.” - John 12.28

This is a prayer Jesus prayed a few days before His crucifixion.

Four words.

Four words so full of meaning we do well to think about them.

“Father, glorify thy name.”

A simple definition for glorify is, “to turn the light onto something”.  The word glorify also has to do with, to think, suppose, be of opinion - to praise, extol, magnify, celebrate - to honour, do honour to, hold in honour - to make glorious, adorn with lustre, clothe with splendour -  to impart glory to something, render it excellent - to make renowned, render illustrious… and now, HANG ON…

to cause the dignity and worth of some person or thing

to become manifest and acknowledged!!!

“Father, glorify thy name.”

This is a prayer Jesus prayed a few days before His…  …

to cause the dignity and worth of some person or thing

to become manifest and acknowledged!!!

Of all the prayers we pray – may we also learn to pray this amazing four-word prayer... “Father, glorify thy name.”

Run with patience,
