Do We Trouble the Lord?

“…why troublest thou the Master any further?

Mark 5.35

A man was trying to get help for his daughter.  She was dying.  Actually, the truth was that she had already died.  “While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?” (Mark 5:35)

In their grief they said, “Why?”  “Why bother?”

Why trouble the Lord about this?  It’s too late… she’s gone.  She is dead!

“…why troublest thou the Master any further?”

So often we read the words spoken by people just like us.  Men, and women and young people – people just like us, and we all think we know what we are talking about because ofwhat we see and what we understand as… people!

Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?”

The FACT of the matter is this:  Jesus didn’t think it was much “trouble”!!!

Yes, the girl was dead, but Jesus is Life!

Jesus says, “I am the resurrection, and the life” (John 11:25)

Dare I say that God is waiting for us to “trouble Him”?  Do we think it would be too much trouble?  Or do we not even think to bring it to Him?

“…why troublest thou the Master any further?”

What do we think may be dead or dying in our life?  When are we going to “trouble the Master?”  And then… when are we going to trouble him… further?”  It really is – no trouble… “I am the resurrection, and the life”!
