Be careful for nothing

Bible next to straw and white cloth.

“Be careful for nothing…”

(Philippians 4:6)

“Be careful for nothing…”  What does that mean?  Does it mean we can… play in the busy road?  Does it mean we can… jump into that risky investment?

No.

The word “careful” here, has to do with being “full of care” and “anxious”.  I like the word picture that the phrase “full of care” paints.  Like we are so full of unnecessary care and worry and anxiety about something – and because of that, there’s no room for the Lord!  I also like the illustration and the question below too:

Am I in the middle of FAITH or…  ANXIETY…?!

The Bible tells us, “For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”  (Romans 1:17)

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)

Run… with patience,
