Genesis 12.1
It is very interesting to see several of the verses from this chapter in Genesis come together…
“Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country… unto a land that I will shew thee… (then verse 5) and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came. (and verse 10) And there was a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt…”

1 Thessalonians 5:18
Sometimes we wonder, “What is God’s will for my life?” “What does God want me to do with my life?” And, or we ask, “What does God have next for me in my life?” Basically, “What IS God’s will for me!?”
Sure, we may be waiting on a few things like that, but for now… “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God”.
While we wait for some things, we can know it’s God’s will for us to be thankful!

1 John 3:2
As born-again Christians we can know, that right now - we are the children of God!
“…now are we the sons of God”

2 Chronicles 25:9
But I think this guy took what God said too far!
The king had invested a lot of money, but it came with strings attached, so the Lord told him to let it go because He would look after him. Here is the whole verses: “And Amaziah said to the man of God, But what shall we do for the hundred talents which I have given to the army of Israel? And the man of God answered, The LORD is able to give thee much more than this.”
But I think this king took that too far!

1 Timothy 1.15
The Gospel of John, chapters 3-5 give us a great opportunity to consider ourselves and people we will interact with this Holiday Season:
John 3 – The Religious/Spiritual Wreck – Nicodemus. Jesus tells him, “Ye must be born again.” “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3.7,16)

Psalms 75:1
That is all I needed to know yesterday… “thy name is near”
It was Sunday morning. I learned of the sudden and tragic death of a dear friend’s son. Newlyweds, married less than a year. His grandmother was my Sunday School teacher nearly 50 years ago when I first hear about Jesus! Jesus… “thy name is near”
It was already going to be a busy day… “thy name is near”
Another day in a world that is very weary…“thy name is near”

1 Chronicles 12:35
This is a very interesting chapter to me. David will soon become king of Israel, and this chapter lists some sixteen groups of men out of all the tribes of Israel, some tribes represented more than once. The total was about 336,000 men of war. Then verse 40 tells us “there was joy in Israel.”
“…expert in war...” “…there was joy in Israel.”

2 Corinthians 4.7
The above quote comes from the Apostle Paul when he said, “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.” (2 Corinthians 4:7-10).

Proverbs 20.30
Recently I read about how David cried (and made quite a scene) when his wicked son Absalom died while committing treason! Then I read in Proverbs, “The blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil: so do stripes the inward parts of the belly.” (“belly” in the Bible is referring to man’s core being). Then, the next day I read about how Joab “sorts David out” with some pretty hash words… (Joab was David’s general and nephew.)

Psalm 61.2
In the Christian life it’s good to know we have a God Who is greater than anything we can imagine!
Even us...
So often we look down... We look around... We wonder how things could be better… We ask, “What are the ‘options’”.
So often we try to plan, anticipate, prepare for “something” to happen...? Then it does and - “LOOK OUT!!!” Maybe it wasn’t what we wanted!
But, for all that God has for us, in this life, for all of life’s “excitement”, it’s always good to know it’s all about Him and for Him.
