And They Became A Sign

“And they became a sign”

Numbers 26.10

Here in the Book of Numbers the Lord is reminding the children of Israel about some men who stood up against God.  They had decided that God got it wrong when He chose Moses and Aaron to be the leaders of Israel.  The whole verse says, “And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korah, when that company died, what time the fire devoured two hundred and fifty men: and they became a sign.”

They became a WARNING to the people like a “Wrong Way” sign!  Like a sign that says, “Danger Crocodiles!”  Like a “No Swimming” sign!  Like a “STOP” sign!  God was reminding the people that there are signs all around us WARNING us, DIRECTING us… ultimately – HELPING us!  Pay attention to all the “signs” – don’t be like the people who became a sign…

they… became… a sign!!!

And remember the most important sign of all – Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”  There is only “ONE WAY to be saved – Jesus Christ.  There is only “ONE WAY” to have God’s blessings – Jesus Christ!

Remember, “they became a sign” to warn us, so that we don’t have to become a sign of a possible disaster ahead!
