...and enjoy it...

Some people would never believe the word “enjoy” was in the Bible!

Some people believe the Bible is only about the “don’t’s” of life.  You know, “Don’t do this”, and “Don’t do that”.  Some think the Bible is all about the “can’t’s”.  “Can’t this”, and “Can’t that” and “Can’t the other!”

Impossible that the Bible would use the word “enjoy”!

The same verse, Joshua 1.15, also contains the words “rest” and, “God giveth”.  Which are more words that are positive!  Words that speak of good things!  “How can this be” some may think – “…in the Bible?”

Yes!  Absolutely!  Because the Lord says, “I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither hath it entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” (Jeremiah 29:11, I Corinthians 2.9)

Wow!  That puts a different view to the “don’t’s & can’t’s”!

We “don’t” have to fret.  We “don’t” have to worry.  We “don’t” have to be alone.  We “don’t” have to believe God is a big, mean old man in heaven somewhere just waiting to wack us with a big stick every chance he gets!  NO! Praise God – that is NOT my God!  He loves me!

Not only that – we “can’t” be forsaken of God.  We “can’t” hurt without Him knowing.  We “can’t” cry without Him hearing.  We “can’t” pray without Him answering.  God is preparing so much for those who “love him”, who know Him as their Saviour.  And the blessings He gives in this life?  We are meant to “enjoy” them. (1 Timothy 6.17c)
