…they that seek the LORD understand all things.

Proverbs 28:5

What do we know?  And, what do we understand?  I was struck by this thought, these questions, recently while thinking about Elisha and the above verse.

First, there were things that Elisha, the man of God, did not know. “And the man of God said, Let her alone; for her soul is vexed within her: and the LORD hath hid it from me, and hath not told me. (2 Kings 4:27b)

But thenElisha later said this about another situation, “I know the evil that thou wilt do…” (2 Kings 8:12).

There were some things Elisha did not know, and there were some things he did know!  The point is: “Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.” (Proverbs 28:5)

Regardless of what we may know, or not know, one thing is for sure: if we “seek the Lord”, we are going to “understand all things”!

Again, the point is: Evil men, those who do not care for the things of the Lord, can never understand that God will judge their sin “but they that  seek the LORD understand all things.”  We understand that “the wages of  sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”  (Romans 6:23)  We understand that souls are in the balance and eternity awaits us all!

So may we be wise, and “Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.” (Isaiah 55:6-7)

Run with patience,
